The short version

Phil Parkinson has not decided Wrexham's line-up or shape for the trip to Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park on Saturday, 24 October, kick-off 15:00, the Leader Live reports. He has kept a two-striker and a single number 10 option open after the 4-1 win over Preston North End. Wrexham are 14th in the EFL Championship.

Phil Parkinson has not decided how Wrexham will line up at Ewood Park this afternoon, and he is not saying which shape the team will take, the Leader Live reports. Wrexham kick off at Blackburn Rovers at 15:00 UK, and the Racecourse side are 14th of 24 in the EFL Championship with 14 points from 11 games.

The two-striker set-up returned for the 4-1 home win over Preston North End, when Kieffer Moore and Sam Smith both scored. Parkinson credited the switch with getting Wrexham further into the final third than they had managed in the 2-1 home defeat to West Brom that came before it.

The manager is keeping his options open. Nathan Broadhead, Josh Windass, Oliver Rathbone and Lewis O'Brien can all work in a two-striker system, he said, while other players in the squad suit a single number 10 behind the striker. Wrexham had recently used one frontman with two attacking midfielders, in a 3-4-3 or a variant with one number 10 behind the lone striker.

Parkinson's view is that Wrexham are at their best on the front foot and making the opposition defend, so the shape matters less than being impactful. He said it was "always encouraging" to head away after a good home win, and that the team would analyse the Preston performance before picking the side and shape for Blackburn. "If we have to adapt again, we will."

The Lancashire Telegraph also headlines an injury update for Wrexham ahead of the trip, but no player or detail has been confirmed, so treat that as unconfirmed for now.
